“Save Nature, Celebrate Tourism”
Globally Concern Center for Climate Change (G4C), together with Indo-Nepal Tourism Welfare Society, Hotel Business Committee, and FSFAR Plant Resource Plantation Program, is organizing a joint Conservation Program 2083 at Kuri Bazaar, Kalinchowk, Dolakha, with the shared objective of strengthening environmental conservation, climate action, disaster-risk reduction, and sustainable tourism.
G4C is a non-governmental organization dedicated to protecting mountain ecosystems, glaciers, glacier lakes, forests, biodiversity, and natural resources, while raising awareness of the impacts of climate change and promoting sustainable and responsible tourism.
The organization was established under the leadership of its Chairperson, Purna Kumar Sherpa (PK Sherpa), who has been involved in nature conservation since his childhood and has continued his conservation efforts through mountain, environmental, and tourism-related initiatives.
Responding to Growing Mountain Disaster Risks
Nepal’s mountain regions are increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, glacier lake outburst floods (GLOFs), avalanches, flash floods, landslides, and other climate-related hazards.
The flash flood event of 26 August 2026 (10 Bhadra 2083 B.S.), associated with an avalanche and glacial-water-related event in the mountainous area near the China–Nepal border, caused significant impacts on lives, infrastructure, property, and local communities. Such events demonstrate the urgent need for stronger environmental protection, risk awareness, early preparedness, and community-based disaster-risk reduction.
The Conservation Program 2083 seeks to contribute to these efforts by bringing together conservation organizations, tourism stakeholders, local communities, businesses, and concerned citizens.

The conservation of Nepal’s mountains is not only an environmental responsibility—it is essential for water security, livelihoods, tourism, biodiversity, and the safety of future generations.
Through this joint initiative, the participating organizations call upon communities, tourism professionals, government agencies, private-sector stakeholders, young people, and the wider public to work together toward a climate-resilient and environmentally responsible Nepal.
